Good morning!
I am sorry but I couldn’t help but start with this image, Confidence is like this chess pawn looking into a mirror and seeing itself as a queen! I chuckled because, honestly, isn’t that how we all should see ourselves? Confident, empowered, already victorious in Christ.
Today, I’d love to share how my day started because it wasn’t just any morning. As I settled into my morning devotionals, I came across a passage from the Bible that struck a chord. It felt different. For anyone who knows me knows that I’m all about confidence. I preach it, I live it, I read about it, I even eat it! Confidence is my thing!
But today, something was different. As I read the passage, it felt comforting, just what I needed like a warm reminder from God that He is always there, on my side. Yet, when I read it again, I felt the Holy Spirit urging me to dig deeper.
Here it is “Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.” (Hebrews 10:35)
You see, Satan’s tactic is simple: if he can’t stop you from being saved, he’ll try to derail you by making you doubt your eternal security in Christ or question God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises. His aim is to keep you from doing God’s will and rob you of the rewards of your faithfulness. Don’t let him! Stay grounded in the Lord, because obedience always brings blessing.
This led me to pause and reflect. I asked myself some deep questions:
- How can I maintain my confidence in God’s promises, even when faced with challenges?
- In what areas of my life do I need to develop more endurance to fulfill God’s will?
- What strategies can I use to combat the creeping doubts about my faith?
The answer was clear: I need to stay rooted in God’s Word. Regular Bible study is not just a good habit it’s the anchor that keeps me steady. And thankfully, I already have the most powerful tool at my fingertips: the Bible.
I couldn’t help but think about how Paul talks about confidence in Philippians 3. Paul, a man who had achieved so much titles, accomplishments realized that true confidence didn’t come from his personal achievements. His confidence was in Christ alone. He didn’t rely on himself to achieve salvation or fulfillment, and that’s a powerful reminder for all of us. Paul’s focus was always on the bigger picture on Jesus.
So today, I encourage you to keep God and His Word close. Don’t let Satan’s tricks steal your confidence or your joy. As Paul did, let your confidence rest entirely in Christ.
P.S. Like the pawn, If you see yourself as a little chess pawn, just remember you’re already a queen (or king)! 👑 The mirror ain’t lying.
Blessings!!
